St. John’s College of Nursing, Bengaluru, organised INFUZE 2026, an inter-collegiate cultural and literary festival, on 02/09/26 With the nomination of the Principal, Rev. Sr. Martha, students of the B.Sc. Nursing and GNM programmes of St. Philomena’s College of Nursing took part in twelve events: Western solo song, Western group song, fashion walk, Indian dance, mime, poetry, creative writing, story writing, Villain’s POV, pencil sketching, poster making and still life painting. A few students also served as volunteers for the conduct of the events, and the team was accompanied by faculty members of the college.
Ms. Ann Theres Tom of VI semester B.Sc. Nursing represented the college in the Still Life Painting competition, held on the theme “Beauty in the Ordinary,” and won the Second Prize. Her painting brings to life a traditional village kitchen: a soot-blackened pot steams over a wood fire, warm sunlight streams through the window bars across the smoky walls, and the scene is filled with everyday objects – a basket of fresh vegetables, spice jars on the shelf, a curry pot, a clay pot with a ladle, and ladles hanging on the wall. Through her careful use of light, shadow and earthy tones, she turned a simple, familiar setting into a work of warmth and quiet beauty, capturing the very spirit of the theme.
The festival gave our students a valuable platform to showcase their creative and cultural talents alongside students from other nursing colleges. The college warmly congratulates Ms. Ann Theres Tom on her achievement and appreciates all the participants and volunteers who represented the college. We thank St. John’s College of Nursing for the opportunity, and the management and faculty for their constant encouragement and support.
