Theme: “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change”
Date: 10 October 2026

The Department of Mental Health Nursing, in association with the VI Semester B.Sc. Nursing students, celebrated World Mental Health Day on 10 October 2026 under the theme “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.”

The programme began with a prayer song, followed by the welcome address, which warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, a psychiatrist, the Principal, faculty members and students.

The programme's highlight was the unveiling of the theme, which emphasised the importance of listening to people’s experiences with empathy and without judgement. A short film was screened to bring attention to the emotions and struggles that often remain hidden behind outward smiles and everyday appearances. This was followed by a presentation of picture-based title cards to the faculty members.

An interactive quiz engaged the teachers and students and enhanced their awareness of mental health. The programme also featured a dance performance and a mime presentation, through which students creatively communicated messages about emotional well-being, empathy and the importance of being heard.

A token of love was presented to the Chief Guest as a gesture of respect and appreciation. The Chief Guest shared valuable feedback, appreciating the initiative and the students’ efforts to promote mental health awareness. The Principal also addressed the gathering, expressing appreciation for the creativity of the students and the collective efforts of the faculty in making the celebration meaningful and memorable.

The programme continued with a mental health pledge, through which the participants reaffirmed their commitment to promoting mental health awareness, respecting individual experiences and contributing to a supportive and stigma-free society. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, the Principal, faculty members, students and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
